Arsenic in Our Brown Rice
A Personal Account by Steven Acuff

In May, 2018, Steven Acuff posted his experience with the long term consumption of organic brown rice in a discussion group. He kindly allowed us to share it here.

"Brown rice doesn't have high traces of arsenic. The rice plant takes up arsenic when it is present in the surroundings. Lundberg organic rice from California has much less than rice from the South. Soaking rice removes some of the arsenic, Spooning out some of the water as the rice begins to cook takes more out.

I got a hair mineral analysis after almost 20 years of eating lots of brown rice. Arsenic as well as heavy metals were so low that the naturopath told me that he had never seen such a good result.

I think it is the sodium alginate in brown seaweed like kombu that clears toxins out of the body."
